Today was another packed day! The students used I-Pads to complete a timeline decoding activity and worked on their group projects in language arts. They learned some do's and don'ts of persuasive writing and then had an in depth lesson on writing an introduction for a persuasive essay. We discussed and wrote sample thesis statements and listed examples of good "hooks." The students will put this lesson into practice this evening when they write the introduction for their "Dear King George" letter. In math, students practiced writing algebraic equations to solve word problems and reviewed solving the problems using the correct order of operations. There will be a quiz on these concepts on Friday. Tomorrow and Thursday we will be using input/output charts and identifying rules for solving equations.
