May 5 ~ May 9

This week grades 2-5 will complete the post assessment for Achieve 3000.  Although we did not have this resource to use, Joyner is one of the schools participating in the pilot program as a baseline.

Kindergarten

In class you are learning about animals.  Let's check out this cool video about animal adaptations together.

This week you are going to draw a digital picture of your favorite animal. Then discuss with a partner how you think it survives in the wild (or your house!)

First Grade

Sing along as my friend the beaver teaches us a bit about habitats...

Can you name three different habitats that are featured in this video?  Think about animals that live in our state of North Carolina.  Choose one or see Ms. Bell for a suggestion, and list DESCRIBING words for its habitat...BUT don't tell which animal you are describing.  We are going to play a game to see if we can guess each others animals by the great describing words we use.

Third Grade

Check out this cool video about the 5 Themes of Geography...
This week we are going to use Discovery Education resources and Board Builder to begin digital posters about the 5 themes of geography.  Think about North Carolina. How can you relate our state to the 5 themes of geography?
