 Fifth Grade Community Service Field Trip

The fifth graders will be participating in a community service field trip on Thursday, February 21 in the afternoon.   We will be walking to  a designated flood area off of Crabtree Creek near our school.  We will be cleaning, weeding, and planting trees for the city of Raleigh and to help our community as we learn about ecosystems and the world around us. We would be leaving Joyner around noon and returning to school at about 2:30 pm.  We need as many parent volunteers as we can get for this trip since we are walking.  We would need a few volunteers to meet Maggie Bailey at the tree planting site at 11:45am to get a quick training on tree planting and mulching, so they can lead students in doing this work.  Other volunteers will walk with our class to the site.
