What a great week! In language arts the students are working on going back and checking the text to find important information and dig deeper into the meaning behind the words. They are working in groups to learn about human body systems. After spending this week getting familiar with a general understanding of all of the different systems, we are going to learn more about each one. Next week we will focus on the skeletal and muscular systems. The students spent this week brainstorming ideas for our non-profit organization. They decided what products they are going to make as gifts, made a supply list, and delegated responsibilities for bringing in supplies to the different group members. Next week they will be focusing on division of labor to get the products completed. The vocabulary test tomorrow will assess the key vocabulary they learned in this economics unit. In the afternoon, the students are traveling back in time to join a colony on the brink of revolution! They are rotating to different stations to complete an Internet Scavenger Hunt, put important events in chronological order, compare historical maps, create a flag for their colony, and make a famous figure of the Revolution baseball card. The kids are engaged, motivated, and learning so much!
