The students seemed refreshed and relaxed after a day off yesterday! To those who celebrated Yom Kippur, I hope it was an easy fast. This week the students wrote Bio Poems and created a gingerbread likeness of themselves. We are learning about prefixes and their meanings and reading Savvy. The students are getting really great at understanding and finding evidence of foreshadowing in the text. In math, the students completed their learning of multiplication and division and took the post unit test at the beginning of the week. Today the pre-assessment for our next unit of study, place value, was given. Students will be regrouped and head to new math teachers on Monday. In science, we are learning about weather and the affect that the angle in which the sun's rays hit the earth affects how hot an area is.
