Happy New Year to those who are celebrating Rosh Hashana! It was wonderful to return to school today and see the kids working hard and making connections. Things are really getting exciting in SAVVY! The students are making predictions and learning about how authors use foreshadowing in literature. Most of the students have finished writing all of their declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences for their "Fantastic Four Kinds of Sentences" posters. We are now in the revising and editing stage of the writing process. I look forward to seeing all of their creativity and hard work put together in the end project. In math, the students are dividing numbers by 2-digit divisors and demonstrating their understanding of remainders. The post test for the multiplication and division unit will be on Monday, September 24. I can not wait to see the students water cycle presentations. After a class vote, I gave the kids one last day to practice and/or put the finishing touches on their work. Groups will be presenting tomorrow and Thursday afternoon.
