It was great to see many of you at Open House last night. This week seems to be flying by! We began reading SAVVY and the students are working on writing million dollar sentences. After learning about the different kinds of sentences, they are now working on a poster project. A quick reminder that students should be reading 30 minutes each night to help improve their vocabulary, comprehension, and reading stamina. In math, we reviewed long division and learned a few new skills, including using a fraction or decimal instead of a remainder. Students demonstrated their understanding of the water cycle in our first science quiz of the school year. Tomorrow they we continue working on the RAFT project, and groups will present Friday and Monday in class.
The Human Growth and Development Parent Meeting has been tentatively scheduled for October 4 at 6pm. This is right before math night, so you will not have to make an extra trip to school in the evening.
