December 6, 2011

The students received copies of our new learning contract today!  We are all super excited to read The Lightning Thief together. After singing the Greek alphabet and making name tags in Greek, we studied maps of ancient and modern Greece to find the similarities and differences.  Over the next few weeks we will be focusing on cause and effect relationships, as well as the narrative elements of a story. These include characters, setting, plot, climax, problem, and solution. The chart below is copied from the learning contract, so you can see the activities the students will complete this week.  They will have time in class to do these, so they are not homework.  The students will get the new vocabulary list tomorrow, and the quiz will be on Friday 12/16.
