Congratulations to Reid and Tali for winning our class Spelling Bee!
We are so excited that they will be representing our class in the J.Y Joyner Bee
The students are really enjoying reading and discussing The Lightning Thief. They are investigating ancient Greece, as well as learning about some important elements of the literary genre fantasty. There will be a vocabulary quiz on Friday on the list of 10 words that the students received last week (see below.) In math the students are multiplying and dividing fractions, as well as reviewing previously learned skills. We will have the I-Pads in class tomorrow to help practice and review fraction concepts. In Science, the students are finishing up presenting their group projects (which are amazing, I might add.) We are learning about the water cycle as part of our unit on weather. Today I read Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs to the students. They will work on using some of what they learn in science to write their own weather reports for the town of ChewandSwallow from the story.
