November 14, 2011

The students came back after a three day weekend ready to learn.  After a morning warm-up on the I-Pads, the students dove into reading skills, including finding the main idea and supporting details of a reading passage.  We are almost at the summit...I left the students at a cliff hanger in Peak (no pun intended!)  In Language Arts we will finish the book this week and continue working on our cross-curricular projects. The students collaborated to choose a project related to Peak and worked on researching their topics at the end of last week.  As you can see in the pictures below, using the I-Pads to search the web really kept them engaged.   The students are studying fractions in math.  Below are a few pictures of math students practicing some skills on the I-pads. We all survived our first Human Growth & Development class!  This week's focus for Science will be human growth and development.  A quick reminder that the Poe Health Center field trip is this Friday, November 18. For those students who did not order a school bag lunch, please pack something "travel" friendly.
