Progress reports went home today in the students' Wednesday folders. (That's two weeks in a row that Wednesday folders went home on the correct day! Hopefully this is the start of Ms. Bell turning over a new leaf!!) I will not be in school tomorrow, but will try and check my e-mail over the weekend. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
The students will be planning and making their own landform models next week. Each child volunteered to bring in something to help with our Hand-On Landforms project. If there are any parents who would like to come in and help out on Friday, October 7 (early release day) please let me know.
One more quick announcement...the September Breakfast Club will meet on Wednesday, October 5th. Invitations will be sent out on Monday. Students who did not miss more than 2 homework assignments last month are invited for breakfast between 8-8:45 am.
After listening to Chip tell us about his trek to the summit of Everest, we are making connections and better able to visualize the setting and events in Peak. We are currently looking at ways the author uses inferences to give us clues about important information in our story. In math, we are working on multiplying decimals and effectively using estimation to do mental math.
