Happy  Monday! This week our class is focusing on nonfiction text features, PEAK, and landforms.  The class reviewed how to use important text features to better understand what they are about to read. We looked at how pictures, titles, labels, captions, headings, and bold/highlighted text can help reading comprehension of nonfiction text. The students will be doing various activities throughout the week to practice using these features. This week will focus on erosion, deposition, and weathering in science.  The students are making flip books and playing learning games to enhance their understanding in science. Next week we will be heading outside to find evidence of the things we are learning about this week.  The students are loving PEAK! They are making connections and learning about how different their lives are from others in the world.  In math, the fifth grade continues to focus on number sense.  This week we will focus on adding and subtracting decimals.
