1. liable- exposed to or likely to experience something that usually is
undesirable
2. convulsions- an abnormal violent contraction or series of contractions of the muscles that is not under control or at will; uncontrollable violent shakes.
3. humanity- the collection of human beings past and present; kindness or sympathy that human beings have
4. diplomacy- skill in dealing with others without causing bad feelings
5. fiendish- extremely wicked or cruel
6. Thoth- moon god, inventor of hieroglyphic writing and the god of learning and writing
7. scribe- professional writers in ancient Egypt who wrote with a brush and ink on paper made from papyrus. Their work was one of the most honored professions in ancient Egypt .
8. procession- (n.) or (adj.) a group of people moving forward in an orderly fashion
9. ritual- (n.) an established form for a ceremony; a specific way of conducting a ceremony
10. papyrus- (n.)a tall grass-like plant that grows in the marshes along the Nile River . It was used to make paper.
11. linen- (n.) thread or cloth made from flax (plant). The ancient Egyptians used linen for clothes and they wrapped the mummies in linen
12. resin- (n.) a sticky material that comes out of certain plants and trees; the ancient Egyptians used it to hold the mummies wrapping together
13. sinister- (adj.) threatening, evil, dangerous, or harmful
14. philosophically- (adv.) approaching problems calmly, patiently, and wisely
15. Bastet- a kindly cat-goddess, who was connected to the sun. She was a goddess of joy, music, and dancing. Cats were treated as sacred in her honor.
